COUNSELLING

At BeeConectar we believe in a holistic approach to wellness and performance, in every sphere of life.

Counselling is a valuable space for critical self-reflection and personal development. In this space you are supported and challenged to be the best 'you' that you can be.

We work from a person-centered approach and believe in tailoring our interventions to the needs of our clients. We also see counselling as a collaborative process and invite you into this process too, as this is your journey! Your progress and feedback is crucial to us.

Our approach combines offering a safe space, with working to achieve meaningful results.

Our counselling services are provided by Registered Counsellors who are registered with the HPCSA

What is Counselling ?

Counselling is a process that is built upon the foundation of a trusting and safe therapeutic relationship between counselor and client. It is meant to empower the client to not only recognize and identify their strengths and inner resources, but also to learn how to utilize those strengths and resources to navigate their life and challenges or obstacles they may encounter.

The counselling process is usually structured and goal-oriented, although flexibility is always practiced as sometimes clients may just be needing a safe space to talk, reflect and process their emotions and thoughts. Ultimately, it is a journey that is unique to you, the client.

Grief Counselling

We all face the loss of loved ones at some point in our lives. Grieving is a natural process that takes place after such a loss, and it is important to acknowledge our loss and allow ourselves to move through the grieving process. Grief counselling presents a space where you can move through this process at your own pace in a safe and supportive space. You will be assisted in coming to terms with loss in your life, on your own terms and in your own time.

Managing Stress &
Anxiety

It is an unfortunate reality that stress and anxiety are a part of our daily lives. Stress up to a certain point can actually be beneficial for us, as we all need a bit of pressure to get us motivated to be productive, take care of our responsibilities and work toward achieving our goals! However, there reaches a point where stress and anxiety cause our performance in our daily activities to decline. Practical tools to not only manage stress and anxiety, but also to incorporate into our daily lives as self-care are critical to implement. Counselling can also focus on exploring various tools and techniques to manage anxiety and stress in your life that work for you.

Trauma Counselling

Sometimes we encounter experiences which we do not feel we are able to cope with, and that leave us feeling shaken well after the event has taken place. Different things can be traumatic for different people, and trauma can manifest in various ways. In trauma counselling we work to find ways for you to process the traumatic event and explore methods to self-soothe and experience safety within your body and environment. We unpack your triggers and focus on getting you to a place where you can appreciate life again.

Interpersonal
Relationships

As human beings, it is in our nature to be connected to others; we are wired for this connection. As each of us is so unique in terms of personality, background, and life experiences, it is only natural that we will encounter obstacles and conflict at certain points in our relationships with those around us. If you are experiencing difficulties with your relationships, whether it be with family, peers, friends, or colleagues, it is always valuable to explore and reflect on this in the counselling space. Various aspects, for example, communication styles, are looked at and you are equipped to deal with challenges and face and navigate conflict with confidence, understanding and patience.

Marriage
Counselling

A marriage is something that requires not only lifelong commitment, but daily effort. Sometimes the pressures of life seep into this space and there may be a need to reach out to an objective/ neutral party to facilitate meaningful and productive communication. This type of counselling is practiced with the best interest of both partners in mind.

Life
Transitions

Life presents us all with interesting twists and turns. A normal part of human development is change and transition. Some of us may need support or someone to accompany us at these pivotal moments in our journey. In the counselling space, the opportunity is created to pause, look back and reflect, address fears and anxieties, but also to look forward with curiosity and set goals for your new chapter.
